After moving to Salina last year and working for Smoky Hill Education Service Center as an education consultant, I am excited to be part of the staff at Smoky Valley High School. A desire to be closer to family brought my husband and I to central Kansas after living in Oakley for over thirty years. I taught English at Oakley High School for almost a decade before we decided to make a change. My husband is a respiratory therapist and works for Memorial Health Systems in Abilene. Our oldest daughter lives in Kansas City and is a speech-language pathologist while our youngest daughter is a respiratory therapist in Wichita at Via Christy-St. Francis.

I love the variety that the English curriculum provides. This year we will explore ideas through writing, story, technology, and discussion. My goal is to continue moving you toward mature language skills and expanding critical thinking abilities. Be ready for a fast paced, fun year!
